Hit lake Saltonstall yesterday morning at about 6:00 am. There was some early morning rain but it eventually gave way to some clear and calm weather. We figured we'd try our luck with some topwater action. I pulled out a black Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye frog and my fishing partner was throwing a black Booyah Buzzbait. We decided to have a little lure contest to see who could stick the biggest bass. The buzzbait proved too great a foe for the frog. The cast alone makes my partner deserving of the win. Here's the video:

Hatcams rule..nice fish. May i ask why you throw a buzzbait on spinning tackle,is it just preference?

I prefer to throw it on a baitcaster as well. I think my buddy likes to throw it on a spinning rod because he can cast it a country mile. Besides for casting distance I don't know of another reason why he prefers to throw it on a spinning rod.
