I have hardly been fishing these past few months, aside from two abyssmal ice fishing trips and a mediocre saltwater herring season. I felt motivated to do a little fishing before my run today so I grabbed a pole and realized the reel on it ha some issue where the drag doesn't work - it's brand new too! I quickly ran into the shed and switched out my ice fishing reel onto my pole - I usually fish with 4 pound test so I don't care if it's blue. Hit up two spots and fished about 30 minutes. Managed to catch a decent size brook trout on a small Swedish Pimple. Water was shallow in both areas (streams) but still cold to the touch, probably in the low 40s. Was nice to feel tight lines again. |
