Got up early today to get in touch w my inner trout. I wasn't the first one at the river at 6:30 but I might as well have been cuz my spot was all mine. The fishing was real hot at first w some nice trout doing aerials and tail walks on me. Fat kids too. These trout are eating well and fighting hard. Since opening day, the fish have been much bigger for me. All keepers but put them all back. 3 fish in my first 5 casts. Things slowed by 8 AM. Only 2 fish after 8. Bunch of browns and couple rainbows. They didn't want spinners or rapalas today. All about the bait. Caught some on the tandem rig but they all went for the stinger hook. Fun morning out there for me.

That particular fish in the pics was weird. It stayed within two feet of me for about 20 minutes after I released it. It did fight like a SOB against the current and through the air so maybe it was just that wiped out or figured it was the best spot to be to avoid being caught again. _________________ Never give up! |
