The empty lake bass club had it's season opener this sunday on silver lake. I did not fish it, as I was in newport for a wedding on Saturday, and was not back in time to play.

7.3 lbs. won, followed by 6.14lbs. for second, followed by 5.13lbs. for third. Lunker was a 2.13lb. largemouth.

Fish were aparently caught on tubes, jigs, senkos, spinnerbaits, drop shots, I guess a little of everything. There were a slew of shorts caught by all anglers, a couple of big crappie, and many big slime darts.

All in all a slow day, water temps were in the high 50's, they should be moving on the beds soon.

Yes both 1st and 3 rd place finishers had 5 fish limits, and 2nd place had 4 fish. There were also a couple of other teams with 5 fish limits, I believe they were low 5's and high 4's.

Too many skinny rats in that place.
