I was able to hustle down to the Connecticut River in South Glastonbury for a half hour before dark. I wasn't expecting much, but ended up landing a nice 3.8 lb Smallie on the first cast. I figured it was dumb luck, but hooked into another 3 casts later and lost it right at my feet. Apparently the Smallie bite is on in the river!
