I have a question. I don't really ever fish the CT river due to the fact of lack of a boat, but would like to know of shore access anywhere from Middletown to Hartford. Thanks for the help |

I don't really know many places up that way, but if you travel a little further south, there are some good spots in Haddam, East Haddam, Lyme/Hamburg, Chester and Deep River. I don't have a boat either but there are some good spots, you just gotta look for them. _________________ Yankees Suck!

Anything really. I would like to get some pike. It seems to be a very elusive fish for me.It's the only thing I haven't caught. I wouldn't mind going for stripers either. I'm just trying to find something near me (live in New Britain) |

I have a buddy who fishes from Harbor Park in Middletown every now and then. He catches channel cats, stripers, and claims to have had a pike break him off there. Also, the Mattabessett (spelling?) River also is known to hold pike. That river empties into the CT. River in Middletown and has plenty of land access. I as well would like to find some new "from shore" spots on the river in that part of the state. |

The Rocky Hill Launch has good access from shore. I see quite a few guys fishing from the dock. If you go directly across the river from there, I see guys fishing from the shore on that side as well. (I believe its Glastonbury) |

a couple miles up the road from Haddam Meadows on the left near the hot dog shop is a popular striper ,pike spot, prob the best chance to catch pike there, I believe they actually spawn in this section, its a great little spot with lots of room to fish. |

Thank you for the tip. Maybe this weekend I'll go try it out. What works good there? Mepps spinners, swimbaits. I've never caught a pike so I'm curious. I've caught just about everything else _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

Perfect...all stuff I have and never use. I appreciate it. Is it a heavy fished spot or do more people fish Haddam Meadows? I can get there right off Rt 9 right? I'm just trying to expand my fishing area this year. _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |
