Had our BAWS club tourney out of Haddam starting at 5:30 yesterday. I started in the discharge canal where I found a couple of the other boats. Because of that, I went down about 2/3's of the way down before we started fishing. My non-boater hooked up with a 3 lber in about 15 minutes. I picked up my first one about 20 minutes later flipping a soft plastic to a laydown. After that I picked up two more fish in the next hour. One about 3.5 and one that I pegged for over 4lbs. Unfortunately that was it for the day. I picked up a couple rats in a few different cut backs down south and my non-boater couldn't pick anything else. Ended up in 4th place with 9.25 lbs for the 3 fish, the lunker went 4.64, which was good for $90. Winner had 11+ lbs and 2nd and 3rd each had 10+. Nice day weather wise, but would've like to get a few more bites to round out my bag. All of my fish came on the same soft plastic craw imitation with a 3/8 oz. Denny Brauer Tungsten Flippin' Weight.
