Two of my buddies had been here on the Connecticut River all day. I showed up after work around 1700 with two dozen crawlers.
Threw a wacky Senko for 20-30 minutes before moving downstream and trying on a floating Rapala jointed golden minnow or something that I like and have good luck with. Tossed the Rapala for another twenty minutes before going to the night crawlers.
I was throwing the worm out maybe two or three meters from the rocks and letting it drop down a meter or so. Pretty quickly I had my first fish, an 8" yellow perch. Fished crawlers until around 1945 when it was time to head home. Ended up catching another smaller yellow perch, two 6"-7" rock bass, and some kind of sunfish. I really need I learn my panfish better.
Buddy said he caught a few crappies before I showed up, and a pile in the same spot last week. I didn't see him catch anything. Saw my other friend pull up a few rock bass.
If you fish here, be prepared to lose lures. There is a lot of structure in the water and got snagged a bunch of times.
There were two bald eagles maybe 80ft upriver just hangin out for a while. Always amazing to see.
Not a bad after-work session. I'm always happy with a few catches, even small ones. _________________ what in the wide wide world of sports is a'goin on here |

I'd be happy with any activity. Added bonus is catching something. |
