Arrived at Mondo Pond just after 12:15pm. Conditions were pleasant.
At the first few stops I played with a variety of lures. 1 spot I missed out on a pickerel under a pound with a spinner.
Later when I get to the same area member mikeyinstfd and I hit last year in November, I played with a weightless Strike King Lightning Shad by using it as a slow sinking twitchbait.
Total was 6 crappie up to 10" with many more coming up from the bottom and slamming it. Also had bluegills hitting it a lot.
Once the crappie stopped hitting in that area I went to another spot that produced an 8" bass on the Strike King.
As the evening went on I covered more areas. Landed a dinky pickerel with the Strike King in one spot and had a few hits on the Baby Torpedo. The retrieve with the Baby Torpedo was 1 hard jerk before pausing for 2 or 3 seconds. The hits seemed to have been curious largemouths trying to take the lure down from the surface.
Last stop produced a 12" pickerel on a spinner.
