Hey Welshcarper you want carp go to birges pond in bristol, its incredible how many there are, my kid goes there with wonderbread and strawberry jelly and catches a few a day, he breads an area then he waits about an hour then mixes his bread with strawberry jelly and catches them.

Ya paderewski used to have a lot of carp in it. My little sister one the derby way back in 2001 with a 36 inch common carp. She caught it on a small garden warm. For like 3 years now though I haven't seen many carp in there at all. I remember back in 01-03 when I was in middle school my mom used to drop me off and I would try to catch those giants. Tons of huge carp in there back then. Now I can drive I put my canoe in there a few times and I still have yet to see any swiming along the surface. The only place that I have seen tons of a carp in are the CT river and parts of the Farmington river.
