fished Candlewood today (the derby)....tough day....no flags at different depths and no hits on different types of jigs...after 5 hours, I called it quits. One other angler caught a 5.5 lb. trout around 7:30 and only saw one other small bass come in.
Was a great day to be out fishing though... |

| that was Squantz pond. Ice is 10" all around thicker in some places. fishing picked up after the tournament when everyone left, but still just panfish. small perch. |

I caught two really nice 16" browns. Cooked bacon egg and cheeses and had a blast with my 4 buddies!
Next tourney will be MT Tom February 23rd

How is Mt. Tom fishing these days?....I went the past 2 years and that is one TOUGH lake to fish |

I went up 3 weeks ago and got blanked. My buddy Russ got 1 13" pickerel. I've got a few other friends that have been there numerous times this winter with nothing to show for it. Very challenging body of water. I kill it in the spring and summer but have a rough time in the winter. I've heard the beach has been wakeful this winter there. Did the beach last year with 5 other friends. 35 holes and not one flag. No beach for us this year.
