I haven't heard much about gators and gorillas. About a month ago I heard somebody caught a 14 pound gator in Caswell Cove. A buddy told me he was getting a few gators up to 12 pounds at Pleasure Beach in Bridgeport later at night last month.

Big thing as of now is bait. Adult bunker haven't made it down rivers yet and aren't schooled up like they should be in harbors and around reefs. I haven't seen a single fall blitz yet.

Can't be everywhere at once. There have been gorillas in certain harbors on bunker! Gotta move til you find em!

...i consider charlestown in soco....but ya i go preaty well there and the other breachways and beeches around there...im 14 and fish alone and with my uncle regulary down there...but back to the point heavy bucktails with pork and a redgill teaser in a high droping tide down near the boat launch was very good last weekend...if u can convince someone to drive u down there rght now i would highly recomend u to do so...ps quanny and weakapauge have been almost as good, fresh pond rocks and east beach are also worth a shot...talk to robin at quanny bait...she will always give a kid a heads up on where to go

I LOVE those NJ bluefish vids on You Tube! Any idea where those guys are always hitting those gators and gorillas?

you can find the fish in nj if you can find the bait. you can find the bait by finding the birds. if you find the birds, the you will most likely find the fish. youll find blitzs in almost anywere but it has to be a beach that your allowed to fish at. 10 ft surfcaster with30 lb braid is the way to get s@$# done for me. try point pleasent tho. next to manasquan inlet. (not to metion the AMAZING fluke fishing in the inlet!) ask a local baitshop and he will tell you whats going on.
P.S. there is also great sightseeing during the summer months if you know what i mean!! Laughing

As a kid and teenager, I used to look forward to late fall/early winter when those same blues would be flooding into the Chesapeake and OBX. We'd run our boat up and down the Chesapeake or chase schools on the beach on the OBX. We'd be throwing Hopkins lures or Gator spoons for the most part, as you could get more distance with those from the shore than just about anything else. They still produce up here, though you don't see as as many guys throwing tins these days. I have to admit that I love the top water strike that a pencil popper or metal lipped plug produces.
