| went to black pond today with my bro ken.the action was slow in the beginning but then it started to get crazy towards the end of our trip. we managed to jig up a couple of nice rainbow trout, we got a few catchfish of descent size. three to five pounders. then while packing up,one of my last flags goes up and wouldnt you know, after a real good fight i landed my biggest cat ice fishing coming in at nine and a half pounds. i have some pictures that i will post when i develop them.he measured in length 23.5 inches. |

Way to go Mike. Sounds like a great day to me! Can't wait for the pics.
I almost got my largest cat through the ice at North Farms on my first trip ever about 25 years ago. It wouldn't fit through the 4" hole and waved goodbye with out ever being landed. I've been addicted to this stuff ever since.
How much ice is in Meriden? |

hey tommy, black pond in meriden had a solid 5 or 6 inches of black ice. not sure how anything will hold up with this warm spell but i sure am hoping for the best. its been such a great year already, the show must go on!  |

| i know everyone is itching, but please be carefull out there because the ice is questionable in most places do to the warm spell. |
