Tuesday afternoon site member junkie (AKA Jose) and I went to Morningside. Tide was heading out at the time.

Jose was going for porgy with raw clams as I threw a few plugs.

Jose got 2 porgy both about 11 or 12". He got 2 other hits.

One lure I made sure I threw was the JSSR-7 to see if there was anything else out there. The only hit I had came on that lure which was a slow, wide head shake.

Once the tide got too low we headed back towards Bridgeport as we cruised the shore looking for action. No signs of life.

Decided to check out The Surfcasters in Stratford and stayed there for a while. That's when things started heating up.

First, we talked how the fishing has been. Next, we look at the radar to see what we were in for. Next, I see a familiar face Laughing . Then, Jose, the owner of the place, and I go outside for a bit and that's when we saw it.

Heavy rain and thunderstorm activity up by Shelton facing to the north from the Housy with the possibility of tornado development. Another cell approaching us from the west, which is when Jose and I hit the road.

Once we passed exit 29 heading south on 95, bluefish were stirring things up like crazy in Fisherman's Heaven. We even saw the wall clouds of the storm looking like teeth to a monster bluefish. Noticed some slight rotation with a funnel cloud getting lower before it rose back up. The blues were splashing water all over the place from their monster blitz.

Jose missed our exit so we got off of Wordin Ave and took State St back Downtown before heading straight up Main St. Bluefish were still blitzing like crazy and saw many intersections and side streets with knee high water from Capitol Ave south.

Got home and the sun was out meaning the bluefish decided to look for more food elsewhere after doing and job on what had been where we were.

I'll have 2 pics coming.

That's why so many fishermen get struck by lightening. You see that and think, "Just a few casts." That storm was nasty! I saw a funnel just north of Meriden, but it didn't look like it touched down.
