Anyone know who makes bait casting reels for cabelas or bass pro shops? I am now semi-retired and the daiwa reels I have been looking at are a little bit out of my wallets reach. Saw some bass pro and cabelas reels a little cheaper and seem to be feature for feature about the same. cmorjoe

i think it depends on the reel you looking at as I believe they use a variety of different reel makers then rebrand them.

Cabelas- Pflugeur Bass pro- Quantum, I found that their reels fit the actual companies specs.

Cabelas Prodigy baitcasters say "Engineered by Daiwa." They are in between the Advantage and the Advantage Super Tuned in features but cost the same as the Advantage. I bought 3 last year when they were on sale for about $80. They are the best reels in that price range. I know less about Bass Pro products but I believe they have a similar baitcaster by Daiwa. Look in the catalogs and compare looks and descriptions.
