Hey all:
got out to Bantam 4-7 ish. Water temps 74 in the main lake and 76 in the shallows.
Most of the weeds are dying off hard so there was very little visable weedline left...Water was up about 1-2 feet with the recent rains. Color was a brilliant shade of pea green. Clairity was poor.
Cranked a fat free guppy and a mid size 1 - in silver shad. All my action was on the 1-. Partner struggled to get one perch...Got a 2.5 lb off a flooded dock...couple of dinks off other docks...All in all, slow for bantam....Nothing pic worthy on this trip.
Maybe I needed someting with more noise: Trap or something like that? Whadda you think?
patiently waiting for the fall feed....
Later,
B |

I like the rattles, I have a bass pro bargain bin rattle crank bait and have had limited success with it. I have used a Rat_L_Trap with same results but I'm no expert... The Rat-L-Trap hooks are SHARP! I've got them stuck in life jackets, my hand and some other places I'm not going mention... well that last one I made up.
Good luck.... what do use the most in the fall? _________________ 6.5' Penn Long Beach with a Penn 330Gti for deep sea

I've been doing pretty well with Strike King red eye shad lipless. It makes some noise and has good action. I've been using the Sexy Shad color that Kevin VanDam swears by. I've caught fish every time I've used one (3 times this month). |
