I primarily have used spinning combos through the years but would like to get a nice Bait Casting setup to be used primarily for Spinner Baits and Crank Baits.
What would you suggest for for a Rod & Reel that together would cost me in the neighborhood of $350 - $400.

I would recomend a crucial 7' MH TC4 crank rod with a TD reel....I like the new curados as well, but no slow gear ratios for lefty crankers like me.....Be careful chosing a rod to do both spinners and cranks as I like something with a fast tip for spinners and a mod tip for cranks.... |

Shimano Curado E200 on a 7' MH Shimano Crucial Rod.
This will be a very fine all purpose baitcasting setup for bass fishing,....good for:
Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs, T-rig & C-rig plastics, senkos, medium jigs & small swimbaits!
Shimano fishing equipment is as durable as it gets,...with a little care it will be a combo that you will still be fishing with, 20 years from now! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Congrats,...that's some fine equipment!! Now it's time to get out there in the back yard and start practicing with the baitcasters! If you've never used baitcasters before, fill them with cheap mono line (about 14 lb is fine..) and throw something heavy at first,...at least 1/2 -3/4 ounces! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
