Hit some ponds in the kayak with shorty powers last week after work. I got the skunk but he did all right with this guy who inhaled a frog just as we were about to leave.

any recommendations for ponds around ashford?

i will be picking my son up at boy scout camp there on friday and was thinking of starting out early and doing some fishing in my kayak. i am coming from the south.

i prefer smaller ponds with weeds.

DITTO on the pond / lake locations.

I'm going camping in two week and I'll be taking a 15 Tracker. I know about Biglow Hollow, any other locations?

Ron

If you're up that way Ron don't forget to try Morey Pond which I84 bisects. You can fish both sides if you go through the culvert under the highway. Was OK years ago and I haven't been back there in years so don't know what it's like now.

Thanks guys, and thanks for posting the pic for me WishinIWasFishin. We'll find a way to get you on some fish.

Caught this decent fish too, this one from Hall's Pond. It hadn't missed too many meals

I'd recommend Hall's Pond as one of the places to hit up out this way, although it might be difficult to launch depending on how big the boat is.

Mashapaug is nice, up in Union, although the fishing can be tough, especially with clear water.

I hit Morey today for an hour and caught one decent fish; it was my first time out there, but I'll probably hit it again. Not peaceful though, since it's right on 84.

I'm trying to make it a point to scope out more stuff this way this year.
