if you want to learn hands on how to catch these carp on a regular basis, definitely PM me.

as far as givin you some info off hand, grab a loaf of italian bread. size 4 hook. break off peices and throw em out where you see em. if you can get em to start feedin, toss a piece on your hook but don't squeeze it. you want it to float. and if you can't get em to start feedin on the bread on the top, well it was worth the effort, cuz a loaf is only 2 bucks. lol

gotta give em time. be still. they're very weary, so if you're patient, you might be greatly rewarded.

in a 'yak? pfft. game on!!! bring a book, you're goin for a ride.

Fishface (aka Tim) snag hooked a carp while kayak fishing at Batterson Park Pond last year with a Rapala that he was trolling for walleye. He fought it for 12 minutes and it towed him around the pond at up to three miles per hour. Yeap, I actually clocked him with my fish finder's GPS when he flew by me. I don't fish for carp, but if I had to choose just one fish to catch while kayak fishing at Batterson, it would be a carp. Here's Tim with his carp:

I got a whole new appreciation for carp after that experience. They're not slimy or smelly, or gross in any way. They're actually a very pretty fish. Really.
