Took the afternoon off and decided to hit Rogers since i hadn't been there in a while. A lot of the weeds have died off and the lily pads are just ridiculously shallow right now since the water level in the lake looks like it's close to 2 ft down!! I did pick up one small bass from the pads on my way out to deeper water,..but that was the only bite from the pads for the rest of the day.
It took me quite a while to put together a pattern. I got a couple on a buzzbait around the islands but those were the only topwater bites for the day (even though I continued to throw it throughout the trip). After about 3 hours on the water,..I eventually picked one up on a jig in 7-8 feet,...and that was the winning pattern for the rest of the day! If I threw it 2 feet less or 2 feet deeper, I didn't get bit,..but as long as it was falling into 7-8 feet with deeper water nearby,..there were plenty of takers.
I ended up with 10 bass on the day. The best three fish were 3.25 , 4.0 and 4.5#. Also, one of the buzzbait fish was 3.0,..but i didn't get a picture of that one!

Mark,
Your a bass magnet. I showed my 10 year old son all the fish reports and pictures that you have posted. His first words were "He's a fishing GOD".
Then he asked me when can he go fishing with you, I said right after I do, now go to bed. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
