Spent a few hours on the boat at the mouth of the CT river on Saturday night, mostly anchored in a few spots on the east side while the tide was coming in.
Dropped some crab traps and casted a line out with a wire leader and a fresh bunker chunk. It was a productive evening with my first blue crabs of the season, all around 6". No smalls to throw back either, just one egg baring female that was released.
Also got my first bluefish of the season, a decent 3.5 pounder.

Trap full of keeper crabs, a couple blues, and what looks like a beautiful night out on the river. Doesnt get better than that. Fire up the smoker and drop some blue off at the shoreline ER mate! _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |
