Time on water: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Water Temps: Starting-71 Ending-74
Wind: 5 MPH
Water visibility: Less than a foot.
Successful lures: Spinnerbait, Lipless Crankbait (crawdad), Soft Jerkbait(super fluke and yum dinger).
It was a long day today at Long Meadow. Headed out with Packman87 to try to find some fish feeding before and during the storms, and we were quite successful. Launched in the rain and the action started right away on the soft jerkbait. That bite was consistent until the rain died off, and the lipless crankbait took over.
The fish were in the size range of these:
Fish were caught everywhere from laydowns, pads, the channel, and plain open water. The two biggest bass were caught early in the morning. And in the evening before we left.
I caught this one on a Zoom Super Fluke (Arkansas Shiner) early in the morning. It weighed in at 2lbs 14 oz.
I caught this one right before we got off the water on a texas rigged yum dinger (watermelon). It weighed in at 3lbs 11oz, my best of the year so far.
Totals for the day
23 Bass
21 Pickerel
2 Perch
1 Black Crappie
1 Sunfish
48 Total fish |
