Headed out today around 2:30 when the rain decided to stop.
Went to the Maltbyb Lakes off Rte. 34 Connector in Woodbridge (Permit Only).
Tied up a shaky head with a black/blue fleck finesse worm, and on second cast caught a decent 2lbs LMB. After a few more casts decided to tie on a jerkbait and caught 2 more decent LMB going about 1 1/2 lbs. each.
Fished for 4 hours and I think the fish were caught right outside a weedline and above using the jerkbait.
On my way out I also caught 2 really nice pickerels, both on slow rolling white spinnebait. (Pete and Paulie)
Over cast sky and hardly any wind, plus I think the bite turned on as the rain subsided.Sweet day.

i would have never imagined that anything could be caught that early at maltby lakes due to the pain it is to catch anything nice in even warm weather there. Which lake did you catch those in? I'm still indecisive on which lake i want to focus more on |
