Fished from 11-1:30 today at lower moo. I get there to see the lake drawn down 2 feet or better (didnt realize they were working on the dam).

Launch the boat, crank over the motor and I starts without a hitch, Im happy. Switch the power on to run the electronics and realize I have no power to my humminbirds but still have a trolling motor so I said " IM Fishing"! Met someone at the ramp with working electronics and he tells me the water temp is 47 deg. Im not being too optimistic at this point with low and cold water.

Well to make a long story short... I picked up a shallow crankbait and started just beating out some shoreline cover and out a little deeper, picked up one on my first spot fished around some other usual producing areas but came up empty. In the last hour they must of woke up a bit, on 4 consecutive casts I picked up 2 pickeral, a bass, and a trophy size perch all on the shallow crank still. With 2 more bass before I got off the water at 1:30. So a trip that I thought would not be productive, I actually left not disappointed.
Ended the trip with 4 largemouth (best going 2.5 #), 5 pickeral and a large perch.

Hi Billy!

Yeah! I hear you!
I don't need a GPS -> To mark a spot or structure, I just use my hand compass and take a couple of bearings off prominent land points and mark it in my waterproof notebook.

Going tomorrow down to Sails Marine in Monroe to pick up my new Garmin echo 300c color fish finder. Thumbs Up
Small but pretty powerful unit -> All I need for freshwater fishing!
