DAY 1 Yesterday
The story
The details
After work I went to a local school pond which was partially open again.
The shore was covered with cat tails and only one spot in this area was open enough to cast from.
This is the same spot 2 weeks prior where my buddy had missed a decent size large mouth
Casting a brown double rattle double blade spinnerbait.
About 5 cast into the afternoon of fishing a get a hard hit, set the hook and reeled this one in.
I left about 20 minutes after that fish to lake K which is a Big Bass/Carp lake and was skunked for the 2 or so hours I was there for.
I was at the pond and lake for about 2-3 hours the hole time out the only hit/bite I had was from that one fish.
I ended up seeing some Fox and was entertained by them before I left Lake K - Home
I have some pics if anyone wants to see them
DAY 2 Today
My buddy and I go in search of open water out of 4 places we find one Big Bass/Crappie lake which was partially open.
We fished lake UP K for about 1 - 1½ hours (no rain) and neither of us had a hit
We tried many types of hard and soft baits
Since he lives near the school pond we headed there.
We both broke 2 openings through the cat tails to fish
We catch nothing for about 20 minutes and then the rain starts pouring down.
He moves to the spot where I caught my bass yesterday
His phone rings and its for me as I walk to him "Mike a got a nice one"
I quickly get off the phone in time to see him lose a 4lb (if not more) LMB right at his feet... Nooooooo
He cast his spinnnerbait out again and this time catches a 2lbs
Again before those two fish and the rest of the time after (½ an hour) we had no hits...
I don't understand why we only catch fish in this exact spot of the pond and why nothing was caught in either of the other BIGGER places we tried. _________________

LOL,..I second that! Fishing in the heat of summer,.. barefoot & in shorts and a T-shirt beats the heck out of it for me!
Nice fish though,..good job! And in answer to your question about why only in the one spot,...that's fishing bud!! Finding where the fish are, is the main thing in bass fishing! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Its just odd to fish 3 places
Out of three places which 2 where fished had more area to fish and were fished for a longer time
The 3rd fished less area only 3 small spots for less time and more fish were caught from 1 small area then any where else in the small pond or the other 2...
Thanks for the replies
I plan to sneak out tomorrow and try to catch more _________________

Jim,
That's not way you have an itch.
Use the cream the doctor gave you and let's go fishing.. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
