Had enough daylight left after a dental appointment yestarday, to hit a local lake for a couple of hours so off I went to Rogers! Got on the water as the sun was breaking out of some scattered clouds,..water temp was 62. Tossed a jig and a dropshot for a while from 0 - 15 FOW without a sniff,..so I switched over to a small jerkbait and got a bass on the 2nd or 3rd cast with it. I then got on a school of what I think were white perch on a dropoff and was picking them off on just about every other cast until I got tired of it (4 or 5 fish..). Had about 45 minutes of daylight left so I hit my favorite midlake hump. Got nothing on the jerkbait or dropshot so I put on a small jig and picked up two more bass before quitting including this fatty that went 6.5 lbs!!

Mark, You rule, what is your personal best from CT waters? You seem to catch hogs where ever you go! I am not worthy!!!!!!!!......... _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

LOL,..yeah,..wherever I go EXCEPT tournies!!
I caught two which were a little over 8lbs for my PB,...both came from Quonipaug in the fall!
IMO though, most CT waters hold a fair number of big bass. I catch my share,..not because I'm any big deal,..but because I throw a lot of big jigs and swimbaits especially on dropoffs to deep water whenever they're available! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

As you know Mark, tourney fishing is a lot different than fun fishing, with no body else pressuring the water your on. Awesome bass anyway!
My problem is, that I don't get the time to get out and fun fish hardly at all anymore. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
